New Years Eve is just around the corner! If you’re planning to host a New Years party in your Miami rental, you’ve probably already sent out your invitations, collected RSVPs, and started your menu planning. Hosting a New Years party in a rental property can be a little different than planning one in a home you own, but this doesn’t mean that the process has to be stressful.
Want your New Years party to be fun for your guests and yourself? Here are our New Years party ideas that should help the night run smoothly as you wait for the clock to strike midnight!
New Years Party Ideas & Tips for Renters
Let Guests Know Where to Park
One of the trickiest parts of planning a New Years party in a rental is a lack of parking spots for your guests. You don’t want your partygoers to take up your neighbors’ assigned parking, so make sure they are aware of where they can park. You can also encourage your guests to carpool so that they don’t overrun the guest parking spots. If there is a parking garage or lot nearby that guests can park in when attending your New Years party, be sure they are aware of it by including parking instructions in your invitation.
Be Respectful of Neighbors
In addition to preventing guests from stealing your neighbors’ parking spots, there are other ways you can respect your neighbors as you plan and host your New Years party. It’s always nice to include your neighbors in your New Years party plans. Extending an invitation is a good way to get to know your rental property neighbors. Even if they choose not to attend, they won’t feel snubbed or annoyed on New Years Eve when it’s apparent that you’re hosting a get-together.
When it comes time to actually host your New Years party, be sure to be respectful when it comes to volume. Keeping your music or television down at a reasonable level will prevent people’s talking or merry-making from getting too loud. Even though it is a New Years party and revelry is inevitable, you shouldn’t feel bad about letting your guests know when things are getting a little too loud. Keep in mind that some of your neighbors could have small children or elderly guests who don’t appreciate loud noises.
Have Clean-Up Supplies on Hand
As a renter, you might be a little preoccupied with keeping your rental spotless so that you can get your full deposit back upon move-out — and so a crowded New Years party, with increased foot traffic and higher risk of food and drink spills, might make you worry. You can lower your stress and simplify clean-up by having stain removal supplies on hand for quicker response to accidents. Tuck a rag and carpet stain remover or a small bucket of soapy water in each room — that way stains won’t have a chance to set before you can tackle them. Your New Years party should be a time for you to relax and enjoy!
